I must say, I love maps.
I’m not a very artistic person, but I thought it would be awesome to have a 8x5 map of Ontario nailed to my office wall.
Materials used include:
- Duct Tape
- Packing Tape
- 8 Pieces of bristol board
- 3 glue sticks
- a small paper slicer thing for straight cuts
- about 70 letter-sized pieces of paper, maps were courtesy of the Ministry of Transportation, in over a dozen separate vectored PDFs!
The toughest part about this project was trying to hang it without damaging it, since it’s a giant pile of glue and paper. (and convincing my better half that this was a great idea)
Now I can stare at it all day and plan the epic road trips I want to have when the summer hits. Next up, I’ll have to teach myself how to prepare a virtually untested, history unknown, Miata for a 1500km 3000km drive.(Can’t forget the return trip!)

I do like maps, they are even better when they are free;

I enjoy a good map because I know one day I will be road tripping in a great car enjoying the scenery

I use compasses, but I really don’t love them like I love maps. I can just stare at maps and really analyze them and enjoy everything about them; a compass is just a boring tool. Plus, most of the time I just terrain associate.

Well, considering I have a box containing every Nat Geo map published from 1987-2004, I’d say I like maps.

We’ve got maps all over the house. Wall sized earth and us, moon maps, various others too.

you have the good maps.
boring tool yes. real useful when i end up following friends wherever. i drive a bit slower, and usually getting run off and left. usually after someone says something about the scenic route being lost and changes directions a few times.
I need better maps.

I love maps - I REALLY love fire insurance maps. Probably more than I love cars. There, I said it.

There’s just so much there; you don’t even know where to start.

That is precisely why I made this. I bought a great car for enjoying the scenery in September (and promptly put it away for the winter), and as soon as the temperature will reliably stay above freezing, the trips will begin!

I’ll be adding a map of “Middle Earth” once I actually decide to stop being cheap and buy a frame for it (it’s a poster). GF says it must be framed.

Love em! This is my favorite one that shows backcountry ski areas in the wasatch. Our USA map is really nice too for getting ideas of where to go. It's about 4x3 foot

Go down to maps, and topocan and then 50k.. Maybe the index for Ontario too. I’ve got a 52" plotter beside me desk so that helps a bit..

Yep. This map graced the walls of my apartment, then my office. Without any wall space, it now sits in a tube. :/
